Remembrance services across, Redditch, Studley, Alcester and Wythall

HERE are the Remembrance Sunday, November 13, parades and services for Redditch, Alcester, Studley and Wythall.

Redditch

9.45am – Memorial Service at the Cenotaph in Plymouth Road Garden of Remembrance, B97 4PX.

10.30am – Parade from the Palace Theatre to St Stephens Church.




Those who wish to be in the parade should arrive no later than 10.15am and veterans in particular would be welcome.

Once again this year Chelsea Pensioner Simon de Buisseret will be in attendance.


10.45am – Service at War Memorial outside St Stephens Church, followed by wreath laying and a service in the Church.

Alcester

10.15am – Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day (November 11) parades from 10.15am to 12.30pm.

Studley

10am – Parade will assemble at Pool Road car park for a 10.20am start.

10.20am – Ringing of bells half muffled at Studley Parish Church.

March to the Cenotaph via Crooks Lane, Toms Town and New Road to arrive at the War Memorial at 10.50am for The Act of Remembrance.

11am – Tolling of single tenor bell striking 11 times signify 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

11am – Laying of wreaths.

There is then a march back to Pool Road for the Salute, via A435, Barley Mow Island, High Street and Crooks Lane.

Road closures will be in place from 10am to midday.

All are welcome, especially serving and ex-service personnel.

Road users are asked to be patient when driving around Studley during the above times.

The main A435 will be closed to through traffic between Spernal Ash and The Barley Mow Island.

There will also be temporary closures along the route as the parade passes through.

Wythall

9.30am – Memorial service at St Mary’s Church

Road closure from Shawhurst Lane to Paddocks Road War Memorial between 10.15am and 10.45am approximately.

11am – A short service and pause will take place at the war memorial during which time the roads will be open, then the onwards journey will walk along Paddocks Road to cross roads of Alcester Road and Houndsfield Lane from approximately 11.15am to 11.45am.
