REDDITCH’S new Farmfoods officially opens at 8am tomorrow (Friday, December 1).
The store has moved from the Kingfisher Centre – which closed last Sunday – to the bigger premises. From tomorrow it will be in the former Lidl building – next to Dunelm – on The Grove Street Retail Park.
All staff from The Kingfisher Centre store have transferred and more jobs have been created at the new one.
The move was welcomed by the majority of people who took to our social media pages when we broke the story a fortnight ago.
Some praised the better access for disabled people and those with mobility problems as the old Farmfoods’ aisles were too small, while others said they previously went to the Stirchley store and it would be good to do a ‘big shop’ in Redditch.
But others said it was less accessible for people who used public transport as the old store was closer to the bus and railway stations.
A Farmfoods spokesperson said: “The shop will be more than three times the size of our former shop nearby in the Kingfisher Centre and will therefore offer our full range of branded and own-brand products including frozen food, groceries, chilled foods, bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables along with a range of household and other items.
“The new location benefits from a large free customer car park and will be open seven-days-a-week.”
