Residents complain over low flying military helicopters near Redditch

RESIDENTS in the village of Wooton Wawen have been buzzed by low flying military helicopter.

Local police said people had called in to complain about the issue, alarmed that it scaring farm animals and wildlife.

The incidents happened at around 6.30pm last Wednesday (November 30).

The military low flying use low flying to train aircrew and it happens right across the UK.




Low flying means:

Fixed-wing aircraft flying down to 250 feet from the ground.


Helicopters flying down to 100 feet from the ground – or lower if authorised.

Low flying isn’t usually allowed in areas around airports, or towns and cities with populations of more than 10,000.
