RESIDENTS face disruption early in the new year as works begin on improving parking around Batchley’s lower shops.
The work will start on Monday, January 6 on the road and parking area which runs behinds the shops on Batchley Road.
A new one way system will be developed, with an enhanced car parking area which will see traffic enter at the mini roundabout and exit near Tesco Express.
As part of the scheme there will be also landscaping, tree removal and replacement works, new signage and improved drainage.
The work is expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete.
Guy Revans, head of environmental services, said: “It is hoped that the new one way system and improved parking area will help keep traffic in this area flowing.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope to complete the work as quickly as possible.”
