AN OPERATION was held by police in Redditch to clamp down on speeding drivers.
Checks were carried out on several roads in the area in response to mounting concerns raised by residents.
PC Jessica Briggs, one of the officers taking part in the operation, highlighted the necessity of addressing community concerns regarding speeding on roads such as Blackwell Lane, Poplar Road, Bromsgrove Road, and Plymouth Road.
PC Briggs emphasised the collaborative effort between law enforcement and council members, noting that complaints about speeding on these roads had been frequent which has caused worry among residents.
She added: “I have recently been in contact with council members who explained they get complaints about these roads for speeding and that residents are concerned.
“This speeding op was to address those community concerns.
“During the operation we spoke to a number of members of the public about our presence in the area.
“Words of advice were given to drivers speeding over the limit.”
Community pop-up surgeries were also encouraged, offering residents an opportunity to engage directly with law enforcement.
