APPLE-related fun will be at the core of another orchard event on Headless Cross Green, as the annual ‘Apple Day’ returns.

Organisers say there will be dozens of stalls selling various different types of meat, delicious ciders and celebrating all-things-apple.

Local food producers will also be selling their own honey, pickles, jam and apples.

Live music will be provided by local 80’s tribute ukulele band ‘Uke Men League’ and the French horn ensemble ‘Hornymental’.

Orchard volunteer Gabby Hemming, said: “After such a wonderful summer we’re planning for a bumper harvest, where visitors to Apple Day can expect an abundance of activities.

“Families will love our juicing stall, which is an opportunity for visitors to bring apples from their garden and have them turned into delicious juice.

“Or if you’re a budding cider-maker you can bring a bottle of your homebrew to be judged in the cider contest.”

For those interested in art, Sharon Sheward will be showcasing her painting which is based on the orchard for the first time.

Children can look forward to having their face painted and playing on the ‘Amazing Human Fruit Machine’.

The events runs from 11am until 3pm on October 6.
