A RETIRED professor of medical physics is honouring the life and creativity of his late wife, Wendy Williams, by selling the children’s books she wrote.
Dr Geoff Williams, who lives at Great Alne Park near Alcester, will donate the proceeds to Cancer Research UK, a cause close to both Geoff and Wendy’s hearts.
Geoff and Wendy’s journey together began in 2014, meeting through a mutual friend. Their connection was immediate, leading to their marriage in 2015.
Wendy, who had a distinguished career in healthcare, including roles as a nurse, midwife and consultant, found a new passion for writing after retiring from the NHS due to health reasons.
With Geoff’s support, she channeled her creativity into writing novels before moving on to children’s books which have since touched the hearts of many families.
Wendy’s first children’s book, The Little Pen, emerged from a moment of inspiration during a conversation with her daughter.
This book, along with others such as Katie and the Kiwis, has been celebrated for its imaginative storytelling and appeal to children.
To bring her stories to life, Wendy collaborated with Elena Kochetova, an illustrator recommended by Jericho Writers.
Wendy’s literary contributions also include two novels – About Face, a well-received crime drama, and One Call, published posthumously after Wendy’s passing.
Geoff said: “Wendy’s creativity and passion for writing were remarkable. It means a great deal to me to share her legacy with others and support a cause she would have been proud of.”
Adam Hall, Village Manager at Great Alne Park, added: “Geoff’s story is truly inspiring and we’re honoured to support him in this wonderful initiative.
“Wendy’s books are a beautiful legacy, and we’re delighted that her work will continue to bring joy to children while also supporting a meaningful cause.”
Physical copies of Wendy’s children’s books are available for purchase at Great Alne Park and Austin Heath, both Inspired Villages communities, while the e-book version can be purchased on Amazon.
