POLICE are warning of another distraction theft threat after a woman, possibly Romanian, tried twice to dip her hand into an elderly lady’s bag as she left the Waitrose store in Alcester.
The incident happened at around 10.30am on Monday (November 7) when the senior citizen was approached by someone described as a white Eastern European woman who said the lady had dropped a £10 note.
The woman then tried twice – unsuccessfully – to put her hand in the lady’s bag.
Officers say the woman was possibly from Romania and had dark hair tied back in a bun. She was wearing a white padded jacket, blue jeans and white boots.
