ONE weekend – a thousand stories’ is the theme at Alcester Roman Museum and Town Hall when they throw open the doors for Heritage Open Days over the weekend of September 8-9.
Found a Roman artefact? Then the Roman Museum on the Saturday is the place to be as a representative of Warwickshire’s museum service will be present from 11am to 1pm to examine your find.
For those who fancy a photo with a Roman soldier then visit the museum on the Sunday (1pm to 5pm) to see its resident Legionnaire.
For those who want to know more about the town’s history, the museum also has a walking route back through time to where Alcester all began.
The museum is open from 10am to 4pm and the town hall from 10am to 4pm on the Saturday. All events are free.
