Rubicon: Plan B means facemasks for Palace Theatre audiences

Redditch Editorial 11th Dec, 2021   0

PEOPLE attending the Palace Theatre are being urged to keep each other safe and wear a facemask.

With the panto season in full swing – with Jack and the Beanstalk on stage – the move follow the government’s announcement that England is moving to ‘Plan B’ in response to the Omicron variant.

Under Plan B, face coverings are now required to be worn in certain indoor settings to help protect everyone.

In response, Rubicon Leisure, which runs the borough’s leisure venues is asking people attending them to do the following:

  • Face coverings required: Palace Theatre, Community Centres, Forge Mill Needle Museum (with specific exceptions – see below).
  • Face coverings encouraged: indoor circulation areas at the Abbey Stadium, Pitcheroak Golf Course, Arrow Valley Visitor Centre.
  • Face coverings not required: outdoors, while exercising or singing, while eating and drinking at our cafes or bars.

The requirements apply to everyone in public-facing areas, staff and customers alike, unless exempt, until further notice from the Government.

Rubicon managing director Simon Ingyon said: “The new rules mean face coverings are now required in certain settings.

“Of course if you are drinking and eating in our cafes or at the Palace Theatre bar, or exercising or singing in our leisure and community centre facilities, then they’re not required.

“But in general we are encouraging visitors who aren’t exempt to wear a face covering, to protect themselves, their fellow customers, and staff and volunteers.

“We also ask everyone to please continue to respect everyone whether they are wearing a face covering or not. Some people are exempt. We look forward to welcoming you to all our facilities to enjoy the festive season safely.”

Tickets are still available for some of this year’s pantomime performances. Please contact the box office on 01527 65203 or book online at https://www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk/.

Rubicon Leisure says all its facilities continue to be cleaned regularly with windows and doors opened to provide air circulation wherever possible.
