KIND-HEARTED volunteers have gone the extra mile to raise money for sports relief in a 24-hour treadmill challenge.
The fund raiser was held at Arrow Valley Gym, on Battens Drive, on Saturday and raised more than £1,550 by running and walking 257km in one day.
The event also involved face painting, sponging the boss and raffles in aid of the charity of both Sports Relief and Jump Rope UK.
To thank readers staff at the gym are offering a five day pass if they bring a copy of the article in The Standard.
Manager, Chaz Singh, said: “We are thankful for all the staff and members for making Sports Relief a success, and we hope the event gets bigger and bigger each year.”
Rachel Dale, head coach at Jump Rope UK, said: “The whole weekend was so much fun. I am so grateful for everyone joining in the treadmill challenge to help raise money for Sport Relief and Jump Rope UK. We even had companies get involved with the challenge, it was a huge success.”
