Safety concerns force closure of more Redditch schools as temperatures set to plummet

Redditch Editorial 11th Dec, 2017 Updated: 11th Dec, 2017   0

THE weekend’s heavy snow and a flurry overnight has forced the closure of schools across Redditch.

With temperatures barely rising above freezing today, before falling again with an amber warning of ice on the roads, most headteachers decided school was out for the day.

A wind chill as low as minus 7 degrees is currently making it feel any colder so anyone venturing out should do so well wrapped up.

Overnight the Met office is expecting temperatures to hit minus 5 degrees by 4am before getting even colder – down to minus 6 degrees by 8am.
