SAINSBURY’S Redditch is supporting Worcestershire YMCA in the run up to Christmas, as part of the retailer’s national ‘Help Brighten a Million Christmases’ initiative.
Customers can take part too up to December 14 by donating priority food items, money and Nectar points or round up their bill in store and online.
It is hoped that by matching customer donations, the initiative could help feed up to 32 million people* nationwide.
Store manager, Will Carpenter said: “We’re really excited to be helping a local cause so close to our hearts – it’s a great way for our colleagues to come together and support the community in the run up to Christmas.
“In a year that has been hard for many, we are committed to doing everything we can to help feed the nation and brighten a million Christmases.”
Sainsbury’s chief executive Simon Roberts said: This year has presented unexpected challenges for many of our colleagues and customers and we are committed to doing everything we can to help feed the nation and make sure that no family goes hungry over the festive season.”
