LET there be light! The big Christmas lights switch on is happening in Studley this coming Friday, November 26, and there’s loads going on for everyone to enjoy.

From 3pm there will be the Studley in Business Christmas Market in Millennium Square just off the High Street.

Then as darkness draws in the High Street and Marble Alley will be closed to all traffic from 5.30pm as will the far end of the Co-op car park.

At 6.10pm there will be carols around the Christmas tree at the Co-op followed by the switch of its festive lights by Studley in Bloom.

At 6.25pm after more seasonal carols there will be a children’s lantern parade led by Santa Claus himself in his sleigh, courtesy of Alcester and District Round Table.

Exiting the rear of the Co-op car park, Santa will make his way along Marble Alley before making tracks for the Village Hall.

Then at 6.30pm the big Studley Christmas Lights Switch On will the place outside the Village Hall.

The fun doesn’t stop there either as just minutes later Redditch Rock Choir will start belting out the hits from the entrance of Eldorado Close.

It all comes to an end at 8pm when the Christmas Market will close and both Marble Alley and the High Street will re-open to traffic.
