A young Redditch girl has been left in shock after a man attempted to rob her as she walked home from school yesterday (Tuesday, November 1)
At around 3.45pm in an underpass near Prospect Road North the 11-year-old girl was grabbed from behind by a man who grabbed her phone.
She screamed, grabbed the phone back from the attacker and ran home.
The man, who also ran away, has been described as a tall, slim Asian male, about 28-yearsold. He was wearing a blue, long sleeved shirt with no collar, dark skinny jeans and gloves.
Officers searched the area and would now like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything or recognises the description of the offender.
They believe that there were people in the area at the time who might have heard the girl scream and seen the offender running away.
Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 or through their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org quoting incident 473S on 1 November.
