BIRCHENSALE Middle School welcomed 128 Year 4 pupils to their week-long ‘Settle In This Summer’ event in the school summer holidays.
The pupils who will start at Birchensale in September took part in a fun-filled schedule of activities to help their transition from first school to middle school.
Activities included cookery, sewing and cross stitch, clay art, music, maths and English and fun in the forest school.
Head of Year 5, Rebecca Evans said: “It has been fantastic to have this opportunity to start to get to know pupils before September and for them to get to know the school and the staff.
“There were lots of nervous faces on the Monday morning when parents dropped pupils off; by home time there had been a complete transformation!
“Pupils have already made new friends and were full of excitement, confidence and smiles – exactly what we were aiming for!”
