SEVERN Trent is set to replace 1.5km of ageing water pipes in Redditch.

The work, costing £250,000 and aimed at providing improved water quality and reliability for years to come, will start on Tuesday, May 3 near the Abbey Stadium along the main road to the roundabout on the A441 and finishing near to property 441 in Bordesley.

It will take approximately 17 weeks to complete.

A customer drop-in session about the project is taking place this Thursday, April 28 at The Abbey Hotel on Dagnell End Road from 4pm until 7pm.

Lisa Orme from Severn Trent, said: “Customers in Redditch deserve a modern water supply that they can rely on. That’s why we’re making this investment to prevent future leaks and bursts.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise any disruption while we’re working in the area.

“We’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding as we get this essential work done as quickly and as safely as possible.

“Our drop-in session is a great chance for customers to ask us any questions about the work and for us to find out more about your area. Feedback from our customers is really important to us – so we’d love to see you there.”

To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, appropriate traffic management will be in place throughout the duration of the project.
