SHOPPERS in Redditch will have the chance to make a difference to the lives of those struggling to make ends meet this coming Friday and Saturday, July 13/14.
Volunteers from town charity Acts of Kindness are holding a food collection at Tesco Express where they will be giving residents the chance to buy something for those in need.
“The people of Redditch have been incredible generous to us, and once again the Trustees would like to say thank you to everyone,” said the Revd Baker, who chairs the charity.
“A quarter of those we feed are children and we are fortunate to have an amazing team of dedicated volunteers who week-in in week-out serve our community and without them we would not be able to provide this much needed service.”
Redditch foodbank, which is based at St Stephen’s Church and run by AoK with the Trussell Trust, is now open four days a week and the plan is to open an extra day as soon as more volunteers can be recruited and finance is in place.
People are welcome to pop down to Tesco and meet the team and any donations of either food or money will be welcome.
Food can also be left during shop hours at the Tesco store and now in Asda where special bins have been allocated and marked for Redditch Foodbank.
