Sing your heart out! Arrow Vale Singers roll out the welcome mat

Redditch Editorial 9th Sep, 2021   0

POPULAR Redditch choir the Arrow Vale Singers is rolling out the welcome mat for new recruits to join them and find joy in singing.

Under musical director Jack Brookes BMus, Arrow Vale Singers perform a diverse range of music, covering songs from film and TV, West End and classic pop pieces, as well as a more traditional choral repertoire.

After 16 months of remaining in contact via Zoom, the choir resumed in-person rehearsals at Batchley Community Centre in late July and members have been thoroughly enjoying their weekly meetings to sing, chat and laugh ‘in the room’ once more.

Concerts are planned to resume from the Christmas season onwards.

Co-chairs Louise Carr and Neil Copeman said: “Autumn is traditionally a time when people start wondering what to do with their evenings, particularly with the nights drawing in.

“We are hosting a number of ‘Come And Sing’ open rehearsals throughout September, and would love to welcome both ladies and men, of all ages and abilities, to come along to one of our relaxed and sociable rehearsals and enjoy learning a new skill, as well as making some new friends.

“No prior training is necessary.”

The choir has a robust risk assessment in place to mitigate Covid concerns.

Arrow Vale Singers meet in Batchley Community Centre every Wednesday evening from 8pm to 10pm, and are particularly keen to swell the tenor and bass ranks, although all voices are wanted.
