A RESIDENT on a mission to inspire women locally and nationally has scooped a female global award for her entrepreneurship and bravery.
Anna Davidson of Callow Hill in Redditch was awarded by DHGate, a Chinese site similar to Ebay but without the bidding.
Anna said: “I had many challenges and difficulties growing a business with two children under three years old.
“At the time, I was in denial that I was in a very abusive and violent marriage and was trying to keep everyone happy, peaceful, and a ‘normal’ family for my two boys.
“In 2015, after many police involvement incidents, the worst when I was strangled and sexually abused.
“Finally, I faced the fear and set up a new life with my two boys. After that, I was then free to focus on growing my business and nurturing my two children.
“I will not deny it was tough, but I’m weirdly grateful for this whole life experience as it truly has made me a better mother, daughter, and eventually a person.
“I learned digital marketing strategies on social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. And I practiced the philosophies in different eCommerce marketplaces, such as Amazon, Easy, Shopify, which has also created its challenges.
“My eCommerce business started in the baby and beauty niche, and I started in the early days sourcing from DHgate. Now I am growing a brand of eco-friendly products made from Bamboo. This niche supports my purpose of creating a physical product brand importing from China and India sustainable products to protect the environment and impact global climate change.”
Alongside her business, Anna supports and helps other women start and grow their own business.
“I want to empower other women to do the same,” she added.
Anna has even written a book on her journey called “She Made It Happen’.
