AN appeal has been launched for local people to paint a postcard for an ambitious fund raising auction.
Organised by Dawn Harris of the Artists Workhouse in Studley the aim is to swell the coffers of the ‘Putting Studley on the Map’ crowdfunding project.
Dawn is calling on people, whether artists of not, to contribute their own painting on a postcard to be auctioned off for the cause on Saturday, November 18.
And she’s hoping local schools will join in the fun too and put paint to paper.
“We’ve had contributions already already from my own network of artists and from members of the public and I’m absolutely thrilled with the support the idea has had already,” said Dawn.
“The auction will consist of original art, on a postcard (or postcard size), and we are hoping for as many original postcards of wonderful work as possible to be auctioned at a public event at Artists Workhouse.”
Putting Studley on the Map is a community project focusing on making Studley a ‘destination’ through wayfinding signage and a new website showcasing the attractions of the Studley, it’s heritage, what’s on, where to go and how to find it.
Artwork for the auction needs to be submitted by Thursday, November 16 with the auction two days later starting at 7.30pm with viewing from 5.30pm.
