REDDITCH Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) were at Malvern House in Fordbridge Close this week distributing SmartWater kits to the community.
Each batch of the hi-tech liquid has a unique DNA style code and is used to mark property with an invisible code.
In the event that an item is stolen and recovered by police, it cam be re-united with its owner thanks to the unique code.
Not only that, but Smartwater has also led to convictions when the liquid on stolen items is found on suspects.
PC Jeffrey, PC Howe, PCSO Maman, PCSO Handford and PCSO Preston were distributing the kits, with a little help from borough councillor Councillor Joanne Beecham.
Funding for the SmartWater kits was provided by the Worcestershire County Council Councillors’ Divisional Fund Scheme.
