A REDDITCH dentist’s celebrated its 70th Anniversary in style this week, with a party for patients and colleagues from across the years.
Dentist@Redhouse is the oldest dental practice in Redditch and some guests had been attending the practice for more than 40 years, including former Mayor of the town, “Auntie” Madge Tillsey MBE.
Madge talked about her fondness for the team who, she said, offer a winning mix of service, friendship, hospitality and kindness and herher message to the team was simple: “Keep going – don’t pack up.”
Dr Dinesh Phakkey said: “We have a cumulative experience of more than 160 years and I’ve also been looking back in the records and discovered that, since 1990, more than 31,000 patients had walked through our familiar red door.
“I’m proud to have such a hardworking and caring team and delighted to be paying tribute to them in this significant year. We look forward to many more years here on Prospect Hill.”
No party is complete without a cake – even a dentists’ party – and everyone was treated to a slice, as well as some celebratory fizz while the Dr Teeth Big Band kept toes tapping with their own brand of rhythm, blues, jazz, funk and soul.
The party continued well into the afternoon, with guests given goodie bags, with treats for their teeth including toothbrushes and toothpaste.
