BEOLEY’S annual snowdrop festival is back for another year.
As well as being able to enjoy the beautiful carpet of snowdrops that cover the church grounds, visitors will also be able to enjoy the interior of the church which will be decorated to match the scene for weddings.
Taking place on the weekend of February 11th and 12th at St Leonard’s Church, the theme this year is love and marriage.
As a central part of the activities there will be a special Wedding Blessing Service on Saturday 11th February at 3pm.
There will also be craft activities for children which will include the creation of a wedding bouquet and a competition for local schools to create a new flower and its meaning.
Many visitors come to the weekend specially to purchase some of the snowdrops to take home for their gardens.
Once again there will be a small corner of the church dedicated to the sale of these special blooms as well as other spring flowers.
As part of the weekend the church is asking that if anyone who had their wedding ceremony at St Leonard’s would like to lend a photograph or any other memorabilia to the church they will be displayed for all the visitors to enjoy.
If you can participate in this way could you send your photograph or other contribution to the vicar Rev Gail Rogers ([email protected]) or leave it in an envelope at the church.
As usual the branch of the Mothers Union at church will have been hard at work to produce an array of cakes and savouries to accompany tea and coffee.
For those coming at lunchtime there will also be hot soup and ploughman’s lunches.
The church will be open on both days over the weekend from 10am until 4pm on the Saturday and from 1pm to 4pm on the Sunday.
