So good, instead of one winner Rachel Maclean MP picked two!

REDDITCH MP Rachel Maclean, has revealed the winners of of her Christmas card design competition 2021.

In the autumn she had invited all children at local schools or who live in the constituency and who are up to the age of 16, to submit their designs on a card to be printed and sent out to her various contacts within business, education, charities, religious, government and other organisations.

Dozens of entries were received and in the end she had the unenviable task of picking just one – so she picked two instead.

One a pre-school entry and one from a high school pupil.

They were Niamh Hamrahan, aged 13 from St Augustine’s Catholic High School who submitted a superb entry with her picture of the water tower in Headless Cross being visited by Father Christmas.

Molly Glover’s picture of four reindeer won for her.

She is just three and attends pre-school at Oak Hill First School.

Each of the designs will now be reproduced 500 times with the name of the designer on the back while their families (up to four people) will be given the chance to visit the Palace of Westminster on one of Mrs Maclean’s coach tours.

“I would like to thank all those who took the time to submit entries to the competition this year,” said the MP.

“The standard of artwork was really high, and it was quite a job picking just one winner – and that’s why I picked two!

“Niamh’s colourful and locally depicted scene of the famous water tower will reproduce beautifully, while Molly’s utterly charming picture of the reindeer was so endearing, I couldn’t help but pick it out.

“Well done to both of you.”
