So thankful for support as crash victim Dominic shows progress

WELL-WISHERS who have rallied behind the fight for life of a brave little boy who was injured in a horrific car crash in Italy last month have been hailed by his devoted family.

Dominic Boschetti, a pupil at Inkberrow First School, has now been transferred to a specialist rehabilitation hospital in Milan more than a month after the horrific incident in Lombardy.

The youngster, who lives in Bromsgrove with his mum Jordan, had gone out to Italy to spend Christmas with his father Giuiseppe, and was being driven to see his Italian grandparents when the car he was travelling in was hit by a lorry.

Despite suffering multiple arm and leg injuries, Giuiseppe managed to pull his sleeping son from the car and give him CPR before emergency services arrived. He has undergone a number of operations on his legs since the incident.

In his latest update on a fund-raising page which has seen more than a £24,000 raised to support his mum Jordan, his uncle Corin Hetherington. from Redditch, revealed the six-year-old, who he affectionately calls Dob, was making progress.

“Dominic is making progress daily. Hopefully his cast can be removed soon,” he wrote.

“Thank you for your amazing support and kindness. I try to reply to every email I receive.

“If I haven’t replied by any chance to you I’m sorry I’m doing my best to reply to all.”

The fund-raiser has attracted support from across the world with Corin posting updates in both English and Italian to update well-wishers on Dominic’s fight.

Dominic turned six earlier this month and devoted mum Jordan has remained by his bedside in Italy with uncles Corin and Chris and grandmother Jacqueline keep in touch from their Redditch homes.

“Dob is making small improvements daily, He is starting to blink occasionally and he seems more aware. He is still unresponsive but I can see that he is definitely improving,” Corin said.

“Thank you for the constant emails I receive daily enquiring about Dob.

“The love and support for Dominic is overwhelming. I can’t believe how kind people are,” he added.
