REDDITCH United have installed solar panels at the Valley Stadium.
The club said it marked a significant step in its continued sustainability journey and the installation further added to its carbon neutral status with sights set on becoming net neutral.
The installation was made possible thanks to England Football and E.ON Next, which recently announced a long-term partnership to support the grassroots football community by introducing a new decarbonisation programme to help clubs reduce their energy costs and help the environment.
In February 2026, Redditch United were awarded over £65,000 to install solar panels and storage batteries at the Valley Stadium.
It is estimated that, as a result of these solar panels, 5.76tonnes of CO2e will be saved and 32,532kWh will be generated annually.
A club spokesperson said: “The Valley Stadium is an incredibly busy facility, open seven days-a-week and often 14 hours-a-day.
“These solar panels will save the football club thousands of pounds, whilst reducing our carbon footprint and helping the environment.”
