Something strange in the neighbourhood.... Ghostbusters called to Redditch's Forge Mill for retro fun

THERE was something strange in the neighbourhood last weekend as Forge Mill invited people to relive the eighties.

The Ghostbusters were called to defeat the Marshmallow Man in the Retro Computer Games Zone as part of the retro day of family fun held at the Needle Museum on Sunday (May 7) and the vintage vibes didn’t stop there.

As well as face painting by Helen Elvins from Faces Unlimited, Mark Silk (the voice of Scooby Doo) made an appearance and comic book artist Lee Bradley’s work was on show for all to enjoy.

The vintage vibe was kept up throughout the day with a special eighties disco by Ros Sidaway from Redditch’s very own Vintage Trax records.

The exhibition by Marvel artist Lee Bradley is running until this Sunday (May 14) and will give people the chance to learn more about the iconic characters and relive some childhood memories.

Among the characters on display are Spiderwoman, Spiderman, Thundercats, He-Man, Transformers, Galaxy Rangers and Inspector Gadget.

The museum also have videos and computer games from the era for visitors to watch and play.
