Southcrest bakers rose to the challenge

A BIG hearted band of bakers have raised £410 for the premature baby charity Bliss.

The cash came from a cake sale at Southcrest Toddlers Group on Evesham Road after the six strong team were galvanised into action by Bromsgrove Road resident Danielle Fulton.

Danielle’s own baby Verity, now aged two, was born seven weeks premature but thanks to the top quality care she received, the youngster is now like any other toddler. However the work of the charity and the dedication of medical staff touched a chord with Danielle and her husband Craig.

“It started with Verity’s christening,” said Danielle. “Rather than gifts we asked our guests to make a donation to Bliss and we managed to raise £350.”

Together the couple set a rough target of raising £1,000 for Bliss, a charity which supports mums of premature babies and medical staff in neonatal clinics.
