Special visit is a reward for Reddich opticians' efforts

DIRECTORS of a Redditch opticians have been commended for their dedication to staff well-being and career development this week, with a visit from the company’s co-founder.

Specsavers in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre has been awarded Platinum Employer status after being externally assessed against five benchmarks in different areas of the employee experience, including talent management, recruitment and induction, and performance and reward.

The team welcomed Dame Mary Perkins, co-founder of Specsavers, into the store on Monday (January 15) as she presented the three store directors with a commemorative plaque in honour of their achievements.

“We’ve been working hard towards this accreditation and are delighted to have achieved the Platinum Employer accreditation,” said store director, Gurdeep Bansal.




“As an employer, it’s important to not only get the basics right – such as communication, resources and pay – but also to focus on helping our staff to learn and develop while offering a varied and enriching career.

“‘My fellow directors James Worton, Sarah Wright and I are honoured to welcome Dame Mary into store and receive a plaque from her to commemorate this fantastic achievement.”
