REDDITCH United have confirmed the squad that will play in a Tom Rankin XI when the Reds pay tribute to their former midfielder next weekend.
The Tom Rankin Memorial Game will see a Tom Rankin XI take on a Loughborough XI at the Trico Stadium on Sunday, July 24 with kick-off at 2pm.
And the Rankin XI consists of Tom’s former teammates, having also turned out for Bromsgrove Sporting and Leamington as well as the Reds who he previously captained.
The likes of Kieren Westwood, Nathan Hayward, Josh Quaynor and Dan Sweeney have all been named in the squad along with Kieran Boucher, Jono Brown, Jack Wilson, Liam Spink, Tom Taylor, Richard Gregory, Jak Hickman, Asa Charlton, Luke Rowe, Kieran Day, Josh Harris-James, Jordan Clement and Kieren Donnelly.
Loughborough have been selected as the opposition with Rankin having graduated from the university.
All proceeds from the match will be donated to The Kaleidoscope Plus Group – a non-profit organisation who work across the UK to promote and support positive health and wellbeing – with those attending urged to ‘pay what you can’.
Rankin died suddenly, aged 26, in March having played for the club in a league match the day before.
The match will take place on Sunday, July 24 with kick-off at 2pm at the Trico Stadium.
