STAFF at a Redditch gym were celebrating after scooping two prizes at a prestigious awards ceremony.
The team from Gymophobics, based on Albert Street, headed to the company’s national awards evening in Stoke-on-Trent to collect two accolades – as ‘Gym of the Year South Midlands’ and as ‘5* Centre of Excellence’.
Two Gymophobics members Ginett McGuire and Trudie Andrews were also award-winners.
Gymophobics manager Sue Aravanis said: “We also had success with our members Ginett McGuire and Trudie Andrews both were awarded ‘Slimmer of the Year’ in their age categories.”
Ginett lost more than 12 stone in under two years at the women-only gym and Trudie dropped a staggering five dress sizes.
“For the first time in my life I can say that I fit in somewhere,” said Ginett, “I’m shy but since I joined the gym I’ve gained confidence to talk to people and take compliments.
“I’m now healthier and I’m looking forward to the future.”
Gymophobics prides itself on providing fun, friendly environments where women can not only improve their fitness and lose weight but also enjoy a healthy social scene.
It allows members to embrace a healthy lifestyle and, in turn, improves both their mental and physical well-being.
On her awards success, Trudie said: “I had masses of encouragement from the staff and the other members when I needed it.
“I will forever be grateful to the girls who, as well as being fabulous coaches, are my friends.”
Throughout February, Gymophobics will offer a one-day free trial so that women can ‘try before they buy’. For more information, call 01527 453483.
