A REDDITCH woman who wanted to follow in her mother’s modelling footsteps has reached the finals of the very first beauty pageant she has ever entered.
Stephanie New, from Church Hill, entered the Miss England regional competition and it set to attend the finals at the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square, London on May 12.
If she wins the final round and is crowned Miss Hippodrome, Stephanie, who has been sponsored by ReVamp Aesthetics, is in the running to be in the competition to run for Miss England.
New Beauty business owner Stephanie is excited to have made it this far in the competition: “I had never thought of entering anything like this before – I didn’t expect to get this far at all. But it’s going really well, and I’m so excited for the final now,” said the 20-year-old.
“It’s all been so fast – but it’s really exciting.”
As part of the task, the candidates have to work towards raising money for three charities – Beauty With Purpose (a charity chosen by the current Miss World which aids disadvantaged children worldwide) St Christopher’s Hospice and Demelza, both of which work with terminally ill children towards the end of their lives.
Focusing on their work in the community and charity efforts, the women in the competition are also required to talk about their passions and personalities as part of the contest.
With fund raising events planned in the run up to the final, Stephanie is hoping the Redditch community will get behind her and support the good causes.
She added: “These charities all do such amazing work, particularly helping children and families. I want to raise as much money for them as I possibly can.”
