MEMBERS of Redditch Labour Party are appealing for donations for their ever popular school uniform bank.
The event will be held in the Kingfisher Centre on Saturday August 19, and will see thousands of items of donated uniform available to take away.
The donation points are at guest services at Kingfisher Centre, Inspire at The Barn Winyates and Batchley Support Group.
They accept any branded and non branded items of school clothing, as well as PE kits, coats, shoes and trainers. All donations should be in a clean and suitable condition.
Joint organiser Councillor Joe Baker, who leads the Labour group on Redditch Borough Council, said: “When I first suggested a uniform bank 12 years ago I could never have dreamt how successful this annual event would become.
“School clothing is a huge expense for many families, and through these times of crisis Redditch Labour is always here to support residents.
“This has become a vital service for hundreds of parents and we are proud of the continued success of the project.
“It’s amazing the support we have had for this event, but it’s sad that it is still needed.”
