Stitching to help bereaved children

Redditch Editorial 7th Nov, 2014 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016   0

A GROUP of super stitchers have used their talents to help bring comfort to bereaved children.

Members of Kingfisher Quilters got together on Saturday (November 1) at Beoley Village Hall to make quilts for Touchstones, which provides one-to-one support to children following the death of a loved one.

Founder Vicki Quarton also popped in to check on the progress of the group, which has named the organisation as its charity of the year.

Kingfisher Quilters was founded in 1986 and has more than 70 members, the youngest being just 17. It is proving so popular there is now a waiting list to join.
