A STORE manager from Redditch has taken home the top prize at the 2023 Retail Industry Awards.
Fabio Finocchiaro has managed the University of Warwick’s Costcutter for 20 years and has been named Store Manager of the Year.
Fabio said he has worked tirelessly to keep the store’s offer fresh, innovative, and to stay ahead of the competition.
“I’m incredibly proud to win the Store Manager of the Year Award as it’s a great achievement for myself and also for my brilliant team who I couldn’t have won this award without,” he said.
“Winning this award and also being awarded Highly Commended for the Food To Go category is really important for us as it’s a real acknowledgement of the wonderful store we have here at the University of Warwick.
“It’s an honour to be recognised as best in class when there are so many amazing store managers working within the sector.”
Dawood Pervez, managing director of Bestway Wholesale, which owns Costcutter, said his team was absolutely delighted with the highly sought-after national accolade.
“Fabio is a fantastic example of a superb store manager, and I would like to wholeheartedly congratulate him for winning this coveted award.”
He added as well as being a great store manager, Fabio was also a ‘real team player’, always praising his loyal and dedicated team – shown clearly by the way so many of his team members had stayed working for him for many years.
