Story time at the Kingfisher as centre celebrates World Book Day

Redditch Editorial 6th Mar, 2019   0

THE Kingfisher Shopping Centre is asking little ones to join them tomorrow, Thursday, March 7 for a day of storytelling with their kids’ club mascot, Charlie the Monkey, in honour of World Book Day.

Children can enjoy stories from all the favourites, before moving on to colouring-in stations where their artwork can be entered into a competition to win a selection of children’s favourite story books from Waterstones worth £40.

Taking place on Walford Walk outside Debenhams between 11am and 3pm, children can get cosy on chairs and beanbags and listen to a variety of short stories to get their imaginations racing.

Kingfisher marketing manager Domonique Lippett said: “World Book Day is an opportunity for us to showcase the influence that books can have on our lives from a very young age.

“We want to share our passion for the written word with a new generation of readers in Redditch. Come down and join us in enjoying a story.”

World Book Day is the world’s biggest annual celebration of children’s books dedicated to celebrating the benefits of reading by anyone and anywhere in the world. The annual event encourages parents and guardians to read and share stories with their children for ten minutes every day.

Kingfisher’s event is suitable for children of all ages and you don’t need to book, simply turn up to Walford Walk on the day.
