Stratford council to hold public planning consultation

Redditch Editorial 16th Jun, 2022   0

STRATFORD District Council (SDC) is holding a six-week public consultation on the Revised Preferred Options version of its Site Allocations Plan.

The Council is responsible for preparing Plans that will shape the future of the District by identifying sites for future development.

These Plans also contain policies that the Council will use to judge planning applications.

The Site Allocations Plan will enable residents, businesses and communities to know where new development may occur in the future.

The Plan includes a range of policies and proposals across the District relating to:

  • Reserve Housing Sites
  • Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding
  • Built-up Area Boundaries
  • Employment Enabling Sites
  • A46 Safeguarding
  • Specific Site Proposals

The consultation runs from Thursday 16 June to Friday 29 July 2022.

Coun Daren Pemberton, deputy leader of SDC said: “This consultation is the latest stage in the preparation of the Site Allocations Plan which will be an important element of the District’s Development Plan once adopted.

“The Plan sets out a range of planning policies and site proposals that set out the Council’s approach to managing development across the District.

“The security of having a strong housing land supply including a series of identified reserve housing sites if required, will help protect the District from speculative developments in unsuitable locations.

“It is important that people have the opportunity to inform the Plan and we welcome comments on its content.”

Comments must be received by the District Council by 5.00pm on Friday 29 July 2022.
