Students across Redditch wow with 'fantastic' set of GCSEs

SUCCESS was on the timetable for students across Redditch and Alcester as they eagerly waited to find out their GCSE results.

Students across the borough travelled back to their schools to see if they got the grades needed to go to sixth form, college or earn an apprenticeship.

Alcester Academy

Around 86 per cent of students achieved a grade 9-4 in English, and in maths.

For this cohort of students, the pandemic has continued to have a considerable impact on their education.

As such, they did not sit KS2 tests and therefore former progress measures that have been used for attainment are not available.

Despite this, the school said more students each year continue to secure places to study A levels at sixth forms such as Alcester Grammar School, King Edward VI Shakespeare’s School and Stratford Girls’ Grammar School.

Chair of Governor, Mike Dean, said that the commitment from the staff at the school to support the students continues to contribute enormously to such positive outcomes.

“Staff at Alcester Academy go the extra mile to ensure that students feel valued and supported throughout their entire school career.

“Considerable interventions provide bespoke guidance for the students and aspirations across the school are always very high.

“We are extremely proud of what has been achieved for the students in 2025, and we wish them every success for their future.”

St Augustine’s Catholic High School

Students have achieved grades that make  them well above the national averages.

Headteacher Luke Payton said: “I am immensely proud of our students and staff for these outstanding results.

“Their commitment and hard work have paid off spectacularly.

“These grades reflect not only academic excellence but also the incredible resilience shown by our entire school community.”

Stand out students include Bella Vale who achieved four grade 9s six grade 8, one distinction and one grade 7.

Nishel Justin was awarded four grade 9s, one distinction*, five grade 8s and one grade 6.

Amélie Seager got five grade 9s, two grade 8s and two grade 7s  and Oliver Fisher received two grade 9s, six grade 8s and one grade 7.

Tudor Grange Academy Redditch

The school is celebrating the achievements of its Year 11 pupils as they received their GCSE results today.

Principal Marie McNamara shared her pride in the students’ achievements:

She said: “Today is a celebration of determination, growth, and community.

“Our pupils have shown incredible perseverance throughout their GCSE journey, and it’s a joy to see their efforts rewarded.

“These results reflect not only academic success but the strength of character that defines our school community.

“We also take great pride in recognising achievements beyond grades—whether it’s excellent attendance, leadership in extracurricular activities, or the kindness shown to others. These qualities are just as important and will serve our pupils well in whatever path they choose next. We wish them every success in the future.”

Among the many success stories this year were:
