REDDITCH MP Chris Bloore joined graduates, families and staff at the Heart of Worcestershire College’s annual Higher Education Graduation Ceremony, held at the historic Worcester Cathedral.
The ceremony marked the achievements of students completing Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), Higher National Certificates (HNCs) and Foundation Degrees across a wide range of subjects.
Many of those graduating are local students from Redditch and surrounding areas, who have been able to access higher education close to home thanks to the opportunities offered by Heart of Worcestershire College.
The qualifications represent important stepping stones for students – with many graduates going directly into employment or professional qualifications, while others continue their studies at university by entering directly into the third year of a degree programme.
Speaking after the ceremony, Mr Bloore said: “It was a real honour to join students, their families and staff from the Heart of Worcestershire College to celebrate such an important milestone in their lives.
These graduates represent the talent, ambition and determination of young people in our region.
“Further and Higher Education institutions like HOW College provide opportunities that make a real difference for local families.
“Being able to study close to home not only makes higher education more accessible but also ensures that our communities benefit directly from the skills and knowledge these graduates bring.
“The graduates are building brighter futures for themselves, while contributing to the success of Redditch, the Villages and the wider Worcestershire economy.”
The ceremony was followed by a reception at the College’s All Saints’ building in Worcester, where Mr Bloore met with staff and students to hear more about their courses, experiences and ambitions for the future.
He added: “I want to congratulate every single graduate on their incredible achievements.
“Their success is a testament to their resilience and hard work, and I look forward to seeing how they go on to shape the future of our communities.”
