A PLANNING application for a 65-bed care home and an outline application for ten new homes on the same site have been turned down by Studley Parish Council.
Anne Gillings for the applicant, Frontier Estates Ltd, had earlier given a presentation to the council in support of the proposal.
However councillors were concerned about the amount of traffic exiting on to Pool Road, the increased pressure on the village’s single doctors’ surgery, and the loss of an employment site.
Chairman Coun Paul Beaman raised further concerns about the footpath connecting Pool Road and New Road which he said he would like to see re-routed and the ‘big and bulky’ nature of the proposed care home.
The application will now go through to Stratford District Council for a final decision.
