STUDLEY has triumphed again at the Heart of England in Bloom Awards.

The Studley in Bloom team scooped two level 5 ‘Outstanding’ awards in the ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ category plus there was a level 4 ‘Improving’ award for the Studley Nature Reserve group and a top award for Warner Leisure Hotel’s Studley Castle in the hospitality section.

Delighted Bloom chair Gill Liebthal, who is stepping down after leading the team to a clutch of gold awards in regional bloom competitions and a silver gilt at Britain in Bloom said: “Winning these latest awards is absolutely fantastic.

“It was the first time we’d entered the ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ competition and to come away with two ‘Outstanding’ awards is a real tribute to everyone at Studley in Bloom and all our supporters.”

The Studley in Bloom awards were won for the flower displays at the village’s Parish Centre and Millennium House, the former library and now the headquarters of Bright Kids Nurseries.

At a special Sunday lunch in the Parish Centre the awards were presented to Tricia Wellings of Bright Kids and Tony Drake who manages the Parish Centre by local councillors Brian Dixon and Jill Beard.

“Everyone at Studley in Bloom has really excelled this year and to win two awards is perfection itself – thank you to everyone who has made our village look so great,” said Coun Dixon.

Studley in Bloom is entirely self-funded and holds regular cake and coffee mornings to raise enough to buy seeds, flowers and planters.

It also carries out litterpicks across the village to keep it looking neat and tidy.
