A STUDLEY resident has credited good food and her family for helping her reach her 100th birthday.
Animal-lover Margaret Marston was born in Birmingham in 1923.
Following in her father’s footsteps when she left school, Margaret worked as a bank clerk until she retired in her late 50s.
After her retirement, Margaret spent her time enjoying the company of her many friends and her dog, Jack, and going to Wales on holiday.
In 2022, Margaret made the decision to move to Haywood Lodge.
When Margaret’s 100th birthday finally arrived, her family and friends gathered in the home to celebrate her special day.
Local petting zoo, The Animal Man, paid a visit to Margaret to talk to her about all the different creatures they look after.
Margaret said: “I love to see the animals and to be able to touch them up close.
“It was so nice to have my family around me on my birthday, I’ve had such an amazing life – though I do wish I was 50 again.”
Georgia Cooney, Haywood Lodge home manager, added: “Margaret is such a wonderful lady and a huge part of our family at Haywood Lodge, so we couldn’t wait to give her a birthday as fabulous as she is.”
