LONG-serving Studley campaigner Hazel Wright is to stand for the Lib Dems at the forthcoming district by-election in Studley and Sambourne.
Mrs Wright, who has been at the forefront of championing the village and surrounding areas for decades, was defeated at the local elections last May after Stratford district council re-drew the ward boundaries.
“It’s all about community for me, where I live and helping people, that’s what motivates me,” said the Station Road resident, who is also an active campaigner to retain services at the Alexandra Hospital.
Her colleague, County Councillor Clive Rickhards, added: “Hazel has a marvellous record of service to the community and of getting things done.”
The by-election, scheduled for February 25, was caused by the sudden resignation of Conservative Nick Moon due to personal reasons.
Also contesting the seat are Paul Beaman, Conservatives; Nick Moon, Independent; Nigel Rogers, Ukip; Karen Somner-Brown, Labour Party.
