Studley supermarkets hit by a spate of shoplifting

Redditch Editorial 5th Mar, 2018   0

STUDLEY supermarkets on the Alcester Road have been been hit by a series of thefts by shoplifters.

The spate began last Tuesday, February 20 at 5.20pm when a thief walked out the store with 15 packs of Ariel liquid tablets.

Later the same day, just after 8pm, 12 fresh beef steaks were stolen.

The following day, Wednesday, February 21 just before 5pm, Ariel liquid tablets were again the target, a thief escaping with another 15 packs.

He was white, slim, with dark brown hair and a ‘boy band’ type fringe.

Then on Friday at 7.25pm, a thief with a sweet tooth stole 60 large bars of Cadbury’s chocolate worth about £120. He was 5ft 9ins, aged 20 to 30 stocky with receding brown hair and wearing a grey hoodie and tracksuit bottoms.

Five minutes later but at a different supermarket, a 6ft white man in his mid to late 20s with short brown hair and wearing tracksuit bottoms and a hi-viz jacket asked for tobacco at the counter, grabbed it and ran off.

Finally on Saturday, February 24 at 3.35pm a man went up to a supermarket kiosk and asked for items, including tobacco and spirits. When these were bagged up he grabbed it and ran off, jumping into a silver Nissan Almera with a registration ending in ‘EKS’.
