YOUNG designers are to strut the catwalk in a fund raising fashion evening for Redditch Nightstop.

Their amazing creations were centre stage at the Birmingham NEC Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch Show and were so good they featured in the May Sew Today Magazine.

Tutor Brenda Killigrew from Inkberrow Design Centre, which is based at the Old Needleworks, the home of Redditch Nightstop, has been running the designer classes for an a number of years as an after school club.

“It has become something of a tradition that the young designers club and the City & Guilds students from IDC show off their work at the NEC,” said Brenda.

“Designers used discarded curtains, pillow cases and hessian sacks and the young models took them on to the catwalk with panache.”

For the fund raising evening, on Thursday, July 5, the youngsters will recreate that catwalk show for visitors to The Old Needle Works in Britten Street, Redditch, B97 6HD.

Tickets are just £5 for what will be a celebration of creativity and sheer talent for a very good Redditch cause.
