YEAR 6 pupils at Woodfield Academy have been serving up some top nosh as they battle it out for the coveted title of Chef of the Year 2017.
The task was to design and cook a nutritious lunch meal suitable to be sold in the school canteen.
After more than a month of competition on the final day the judging panel of both staff and students couldn’t split Mellissa Hay’s ‘pizza chicken’ and Luc McMullan’s chicken drumsticks with homemade BBQ marinade served with baked potato pieces, and both were awarded top spot.
Teacher Gemma Lawrence said: “All of the Year 6 participants took the competition very seriously. They produced a beautiful and impressive collection of meals between them. They have all proven themselves to be very capable young chefs. Fantastic work!”
