RESIDENTS across Redditch Borough and Bromsgrove District can now tell their relevant councils what issues they want prioritised by taking part in new short seasonal surveys.
In previous years, the councils have had one long annual survey which asked about everything, whereas the new version asks for residents’ views on focused questions four times a year.
The responses will go to borough councillors and officers to help set the authority’s priorities and plans.
Each of the short quarterly surveys will focus on a specific topic, including your local area, district budgets and priorities, and the key issues facing the current year.
Redditch council’s portfolio holder for Performance, Coun Jane Spilsbury, said: “We are always listening, but these surveys create a piece of real evidence for how people feel about key issues.”
Redditch council leader, Coun Joe Baker, added: “Actively engaging with people in Redditch is important for the council to understand how people feel about important things.
“It ensures that what we do continues to reflect the views of the community and as part of that. I hope people will find these quick quarterly surveys easy to respond to.”
The leader of Bromsgrove council, Coun Karen May, said: “When the council decides its priorities one of the things we look at it is the results of these official surveys, which help us understand what people think about the key issues. It’s an important piece of information that helps shape what we do and I encourage everyone to have their say. We all have our views – please make yours heard.”
Bromsgrove council deputy leader, Coun Sue Baxter, added: “We want people from all across the district to respond to these quick surveys and tell us what they really care about.
“We hope and believe that this new shorter, sharper approach will make it easier for people district-wide to do just that.”
Both surveys are open for responses until September 30.
