THE SUN shone down on Cookhill Baptist Church last weekend as it held its 20th Flower Festival.
Visitors enjoyed the colourful and flowers on show and were also treated to morning coffee, ploughman’s lunch and cream teas in the afternoon.
This year’s theme was ‘Precious Stones of the Bible’, with each flower reflecting the colours seen in stones such as amber, ruby and sapphire.
Organiser Jackie Morgan said: “The church and village came alive as the south winds blew the fragrances of flowers, herbs and spices over the surrounding area.
“That was actually the message delivered by Dave Pope, who works at the Flame Trust organisation, during the garden praise service held outside.”
