SHOPPERS in Redditch are being encouraged to show their support for independent retailers at Kingfisher Shopping Centre this Saturday (December 3).
Small Business Saturday is a national campaign which was launched in the UK three years ago to support, inspire and promote small businesses and last year shoppers in the UK spent £623m with small businesses on Small Business Saturday, an increase of 24 per cent on 2014.
Kingfisher Shopping Centre has a range of independent retailers including family run fashion favourite Fat Giraffe, home interiors store Home Sweet Home, Italian fashion brand Riley Boutique and one of the centre’s longest running retailers Humphries Shoes.
Ken Williams, General Manager at Kingfisher Shopping Centre, commented: “We have several independent businesses here in centre, including newbie Café Neutrino, quirky art and homeware store Little Gerties.
“Smaller independent retailers are the lifeblood of communities and we are very proud to have them in our Mall.
“Hopefully our customers will turn up in force at the weekend and show independent companies in Redditch that they are a valued and important part of our community. We are looking forward to a great day.”
